Washington State Teacher Endorsement Competencies

Washington State has established teacher endorsement competencies—what teachers are expected to know and be able to do—in each of the endorsement areas recognized by the state. These competencies are used by colleges and universities to guide their preparation programs and also provide the basis for the content testing (WEST–E) required for anyone seeking endorsement.
