THE NEW WEST–E

The PESB has initiated redevelopment of the Washington Educator Skills Tests—Endorsements (WEST–E) that are required for P–12 educator endorsements. New WEST–E tests have been developed or are currently being developed for the 34 endorsements. The new tests are fully aligned with state standards, including the teacher endorsement competencies and the Essential Academic Learning Requirements.

Preparation materials for all tests except Designated World Languages can be found on the WEST Web site by selecting "What's on the Tests?" Preparation materials for the Designated World Languages test will be available in November 2009.

New tests for 2009–2010. The following WEST–E tests will be offered beginning in September 2009:

Score reports for these tests for the September 12, 2009, and November 14, 2009, test administrations will not be released before December 7, 2009, due to standard-setting activities and the determination of passing scores by the PESB.

The following new WEST–E test will be offered beginning in January 2010:

Score reports for this test for the January 9, 2010, and February 27, 2010, test administrations will not be released before May 3, 2010, due to standand-setting activities and the determination of passing scores by the PESB.
