What's New in 2011–2012?
Computer-Based Testing
Beginning in November 2011, WEST will provide Washington candidates with expanded opportunities to schedule and take WEST assessments. WEST will replace paper-based administrations with computer-based administrations for the following tests:
- Elementary Education Subtest 1: Mathematics, Science, Health/Fitness (005)
- Elementary Education Subtest 2: English Language Arts, Social Studies, the Arts (006)
- English Language Arts (020)
- Health/Fitness (029)
- Mathematics (026)
- Social Studies (028)
Note: The last paper-based administration of these tests/subtests will be offered on September 17, 2011.
WEST computer-based tests will be offered 12 times per program year, in six-day testing windows. Tests may be scheduled for Monday through Saturday (excluding some holidays) on a first-come, first-served basis. WEST computer-based tests will be available at more than 225 Pearson Professional Centers throughout the United States and its territories (e.g., Puerto Rico), as well as at over 30 international test centers, including in Canada and Mexico.
