EXPANDED DIAGNOSTIC FEEDBACK SERVICE

Purpose

The purpose of the Expanded Diagnostic Feedback Service is to provide you with detailed information about your performance on a WEST paper-based test that you did not pass. The service is designed to reveal more clearly areas of strength and weakness on the test so that you may better prepare to take the test again.

The Expanded Diagnostic Feedback Service is not a score verification service. Requests for the service will not change your score on a test. Also, the service is not designed to provide you with suggestions for study aids and other preparation activities that may help improve your performance on a test. You are encouraged to consult with the advisor or director at your educator preparation program for information about preparing to take the WEST.

Options

If you did not pass a WEST paper-based test, you may request the Expanded Diagnostic Feedback Service and receive (a) a review of your overall performance on the multiple-choice questions and (b) the percentage of multiple-choice questions that you answered correctly for each content domain and each objective on the test.

If you did not pass the WEST–B Writing subtest or the WEST–E Designated World Languages: Latin (101) test, you may also request feedback on the constructed-response section of the test. If you request this feedback, you will receive a review of your written and/or oral responses to the constructed-response assignments based on the performance characteristics that describe the criteria for scoring the assignments. Note that the constructed-response section contributes approximately 33 percent to your scaled total test score for the WEST–B Writing, and 20 percent to your scaled total test score for WEST–E Designated World Languages: Latin (101).
